The Seidensticker Group: company management restructure

Dec 11, 2019

The Seidensticker Group is restructuring management at the group of companies.

Martin Friedrich (53), managing director and member of the board of directors, is leaving the Bielefeld company at his own request and in the best mutual agreement and will resign from office on 31 December 2019. Martin Friedrich, a graduate industrial engineer, has been CFO and responsible for finance and accounting, controlling and IT since mid-2014. He heads the camel active business unit. Due to the discontinuation of the camel active license at the end of the year, the Seidensticker Group structure has changed significantly, resulting in Martin Friedrich wanting to take on new professional challenges. “With his expertise and commitment, Martin Friedrich has made a decisive contribution to the company’s strategic realignment in recent years. We would like to sincerely thank him for his extraordinary achievements and wish him all the best for the future,” said the two managing partners Frank and Gerd Oliver Seidensticker.

Due to the business model’s focus, the managing partners Frank and Gerd Oliver Seidensticker have decided to restructure management at the group of companies. They will focus on strategic management and the expansion of the remaining brand and private label business areas themselves in future. The operational management of the group of companies will be transferred to three experienced external managers on 1 January 2020. The company management’s areas of responsibility will be divided as follows in future:

Dr Marc Barrantes (39), who holds a doctorate in economics, will join the company as CFO from 1 January 2020 and will be responsible for the areas of finance and accounting, controlling, IT, legal affairs and human resources.

Dr Horst Gersmeyer (51), who has been Managing Director of Seidensticker Overseas Ltd. in Hong Kong and Seidensticker Logistik GmbH since August 2018, will become COO of the group of companies. In this position, he will manage the Supply Chain division and be responsible for the worldwide activities within Purchasing & Procurement as well as Production and Logistics for Europe and Asia. Dr Horst Gersmeyer will also be in charge of the Private Label division.

Dr Silvia Bentzinger (43), will assume overall responsibility for the Seidensticker brand. The lawyer has been with the group since 2008 and has been responsible for Human Resources & Legal, PR & Communication since 2014 as managing director and member of the executive board. She has also been responsible for all business within the Seidensticker womenswear brand since the middle of this year. As CEO of the Seidensticker brand, Dr Silvia Bentzinger will also be the spokeswoman for operational management.

Dr Silvia Bentzinger, Dr Marc Barrantes and Dr Horst Gersmeyer will report to the two managing partners Frank and Gerd Oliver Seidensticker.
